In beta: pilot programme open to municipalities
An app in your municipality's colours to inform residents, collect reports and bring local life together. Open as a pilot to town, parish and community councils in the United Kingdom, with a management area for councillors and staff, and data hosted in Europe.
Placette complements your official channels: it is not an official alert system.
For councils in the United Kingdom
Placette is in beta and open as a pilot in the UK. We tune features and process with the first councils instead of making promises we cannot keep.
The council remains the data controller (UK GDPR); a model data processing agreement is available. The regulator is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Placette complements your official channels and does not replace emergency services (999 or 112) or government alerts.
Data stays in the European Union or Switzerland, and every council is isolated from the others.
No UK council is a customer yet, and a UK legal review of the contracts is still to be done.

Alert
Three municipal levels, each with its own icon and label: never colour alone. Residents can receive alerts without an account, after consent.
Inform
News, agenda with registrations and reminders, practical pages: the editor is simple and review before publication is built in.
Report
Residents report in a few taps; the municipality assigns, handles and closes. Every status change is notified.
Connect
A charter to accept before posting, quick reporting, automatic hiding after a threshold and a moderation log. The municipality stays in control.
Guide
Directory of shops and associations, map, procedures with documents and timelines, waste calendar by address, transport when the operator publishes it.
Assist
It answers frequent questions from the municipality's knowledge base, identifies itself as AI, declines anything out of scope and hands over to a staff member. It takes no administrative decision.
Include
Four languages, easy-to-read texts (FALC), adjustable text size, dark mode, automatically checked contrast. The target is WCAG 2.2 AA; the external audit has not been done yet.
Placette is not an official alert system. In an emergency, call 999 (or 112).

The municipality dashboard is in beta: alerts, news, reports, moderation, statistics, users and settings, with roles and an audit log.

The identities of Braine-le-Comte, Enghien, Rebecq, Seneffe and neighbouring municipalities are already prepared for the presentation. None is a customer yet: the free 3-month pilot is waiting for its first municipalities.

Security and sovereignty

Each region is an isolated stack. Push notifications go through Google and Apple: documented in the data processing agreement.
Each municipality is protected at row level in the database, verified by automated tests.

The municipality is the controller; Placette is the processor on the municipality's written instructions. A model data processing agreement is provided, with the list of sub-processors. Legal models must be reviewed by your legal department.
Your municipality stays in control: charter, quick reporting, automatic hiding after a threshold you set, banning, log and appeals. Pre-publication validation can be switched on. The municipality can also leave the module off.
The data processing agreement provides for the return of your data and then its deletion at the end of the contract, within the deadlines set in the contract. During the pilot, you are free to continue or not.

No. Placette is not an official alert system: it carries everyday municipal information and can relay an official alert read-only. In an emergency, residents call 112.
Today the app installs from the browser. The store apps are prepared but not yet published; publishing under the municipality's name goes through its own Apple and Google developer accounts.
